Latest Updates from Our Project:

New! The Original Rumble Jar (just without a jar)
over 3 years ago – Tue, Oct 20, 2020 at 11:49:37 PM

Just a quick update to our favorite people in the world: the Original Rumble Jar that you (yes, YOU!) made happen is now available as a standalone filter. All this means is that you no longer need to buy the Mason jar along with it.

And of course there's a discount available for you, in case you're interested in expanding your Rumble portfolio. Use discount code NEW32 at checkout to take $3 off the standalone 32oz Rumble Jar filter, now through this Sunday 10/25.

We know a few of you had been asking for this standalone filter from the very beginning. We were a bit wary to do it because of the potential compatibility issues (as a reminder, Rumble Jar filters only fit in wide-mouth jars and not in regular-mouth jars). We definitely didn't want folks buying the filter by itself, only to be disappointed when they realized they had the wrong jar at home and couldn't actually make coffee! Ultimately we piloted the 32oz filter-only product on Amazon, and discovered that our fears were largely unfounded. Buyers understood the distinction and generally didn't run into the compatibility issue, which was great news to us. So to all you backers who wanted it from day 1: you were right and we were wrong! :)

And please stay tuned to some upcoming updates over the next couple months. We've got a couple fun things we're working on and would love your support!

Rumble Jar just grew up! Now available in a half-gallon version.
almost 5 years ago – Fri, May 31, 2019 at 08:09:41 PM

Rumble Jaristas,

Anyone interesting in making double the amount of cold brew?? Because we just announced the arrival of our half gallon Rumble Jar filter. And just like with Rumble Go, this new product only happened because of your amazing feedback from that survey we sent you last year.

So yeah, obviously you get a discount too if you're interested in going up to this new, bigger size. Just use this code at checkout to take $3 off each half-gallon filter now through June 7: RJGROWSUP

Same great filter. Just taller, really.

We didn't reinvent the wheel here. Since you folks really seemed to like your Rumble Jars from Kickstarter, we stuck as closely as possible to the original design:

  • Still forged from sturdy 18/8 stainless steel
  • Still features 200 micron holes, the ideal size for coarse grounds
  • Still fights oxidation by letting the Mason jar's legendary seal do its job

One big change though...

It's just the filter.

The big difference with the XL version of the Rumble Jar is this: it's only available as a standalone filter (i.e. no jar included), so you need to supply your own half-gallon Mason jar. You can read more about why we're doing that here.

You asked for it. We made it.

We'll quickly point out that our biggest piece of feedback from that survey last year was for a more portable cold brew maker. As a result, we ended up launching Rumble Go on Kickstarter. Our #2 piece of feedback? That was for a bigger version of the original Rumble Jar. Now that's here too.

So yeah, we're definitely listening to you original Rumble Jaristas! A huge thanks for inspiring basically everything we do in the Rumble world, and please keep those good thoughts coming.

Yall got a big shoutout in our open letter to Rumble Go backers
over 5 years ago – Wed, Oct 24, 2018 at 04:48:06 PM

Rumble Jaristas,

Our new Rumble Go Kickstarter campaign finished up over the weekend, and after popping jars of cold brew to celebrate, we wrote some nice stuff about you all on our blog. We just wanted to thank all our backers, new and old, as well as the entire Kickstarter community that's helped make both products a reality while somehow also being such pleasant experiences for us as creators. So thank you all! And if you have 1.5 minutes to read our gushing, please consider taking a look on our blog, or just read it below.

(and in case you missed the campaign but are still interested, you'll be able to preorder it)

An open letter thanking our backers for another great Kickstarter

Over the weekend, we wrapped up our second Kickstarter campaign for this Rumble line of cold brew coffee makers. Kickstarter campaigns are always whirlwinds until the very end, and so it takes a few days until you can really reflect on it.

So now a few days removed, we'd just like to give credit where it's due: our backers, both new and old. Thank you all!

This recent Rumble Go campaign would not have happened at all if the backers of our first campaign Rumble Jar weren't willing to place their faith in our ability to execute. Back then we were just two unknown guys with an idea, and our backers just trusted us. Thank you!

The idea for this new product emerged mostly out of feedback we got from those Rumble Jar backers. We sent out a survey, and our backers responded: portability was an issue with a Mason jar. Had you not been willing to stay engaged, share and help us out with your thoughts, this second campaign for a more portable coffee maker would not have happened. Thank you!

So many of those original Rumble Jar backers came back and supported us a second time for Rumble Go. It makes us so happy to see folks returning. Thank you!

Our newer backers picked up from where the original ones left off. They've been supportive, helpful and just plain-old really nice people. Can't stress how much we appreciate having nice interactions with folks. It really makes the stuff we do worth it. Thank you!

Now it's time for us to return the favor, so we'll get back to work now. If anyone needs anything, we're an email away.

Outside Magazine and Seattle Coffee Gear with some Rumble love
over 5 years ago – Sat, Oct 06, 2018 at 08:20:17 PM

Rumble Jaristas,

A few websites have been talking about how they're digging Rumble gear, so we thought we'd share a couple with you since we're pretty psyched about it!

Outside Magazine showing Rumble Go some love

Outside rounded up their favorite gear-related Kickstarter projects for October, and our 2 week-old project Rumble Go was featured in it. We loved how they recognized the convenience of preparing cold brew vs hot coffee, since hot coffee requires a heat source, and that's a tough thing to find or create while you're outside. Read more here.

Great quote: "In the morning, your cold-brew coffee is ready to drink the moment you get out of bed or your sleeping bag, so you don’t have to fumble around to boil water."

We just entered the second half of that Rumble Go campaign and are now aiming at a few great stretch goals over there, so if you're interested in checking out the new portable setup, now's the time!: Rumble Go | Portable Cold Brew Coffee Maker

Seattle Coffee Gear's Rumble Jar review

Now onto a great Rumble Jar review. Seattle Coffee Gear is one of the leading coffee gear websites in the country, so we were pumped to get a Rumble Jar into their hands to see what they thought. And they seemed to think it was great! On their website they had an amazing quote: "Phenomenal Filter - We tested a bunch of these Mason Jar filters before settling on one we liked. The difference in flavor and clarity between regular mesh and etched steel is noticeable. The filter was also quite a bit more sturdy than any of the mesh options we used."

Nice to get some approval from some of the most discerning folks in the coffee equipment world!
